Award-winning menu | Charity cheese and wine

It’s been a brilliant month for Beaconsfield with not one but two mentions in the UK’s top food publications.

Firstly, our set lunch menu has been named one of the best value in the country by inspectors at the Good Food Guide. For just £30 for two courses or £35 for three, you could get a feast of goats’ cheese croquettes and pan-fried sea bream before finishing off with a Norfolk treacle tart with clotted cream ice-cream – a snip if we do say so ourselves.

And that’s not all – we’ve been listed as one of the best countryside pubs for food near London by Hot Dinners! The publication said our menu “roams all over the world for inspiration but returns to Britain for the best produce” and described our vegan tasting menu as “excellent” for those searching for plant-based inspiration.

If you’re one of our London-based guests, don’t forget there’s a direct train to Beaconsfield from Marylebone that takes less than half an hour, perfect for a day out from the big smoke.

It makes us so proud that we can contribute to the town’s culinary reputation at a national level – being a cornerstone of the local community is important to us. So, it naturally follows that we are once again supporting Beaconsfield Rotary Club’s charity cheese and wine evening at Bekonscot Model Village on 14 June. As in previous years, we’ll be providing the cheese for the evening and all proceeds will go towards Best for Bucks, which goes towards funding equipment for our local hospitals. Tickets are available at Traveltime Beaconsfield for £15 per adult, and free for children under 12.

We’re also supporting one of our regular guests who is a member of Team Excelsioar, a team of three women who are rowing across the Atlantic Ocean, to raise funds for two local charities – Thames Hospice and The DASH Charity, which provide essential services in the local area.

Nicki Kelly is a regular with us and, whilst she can't come to the Greyhound for some time due to her trip, we thought we'd give her a piece of the Greyhound to take with her and we're proudly displaying the Greyhound logo on the side of her boat. If you’d like to contribute, they’re fundraising on www.gofundme.com/f/team-excelsioar-atlantic-row. Once they have completed their challenge, they will be selling their equipment and donating the funds to their charities.

We look forward to seeing you very soon.
