New head chef | Olive magazine | RACA visit | Meet Sam
If you’re a reader of Olive magazine, did you spot us on the newsstands this week? We’re chuffed to bits that our menu was described as a ‘next level dining destination’ in Olive’s July issue and the recipes for three of our best dishes are in there as well. Pick up a copy and read all about it!
More big news: as you may have seen, we’ve got a new head chef! We’re thrilled to have appointed Jermaine Harriott to oversee our kitchen. If his name sounds familiar, well spotted – he’s actually been with us for the last year as a sous chef and has an extensive career working in some of the UK’s top restaurants.
We’ve simultaneously promoted James to the new role of development chef to work on special projects and growth plans. Watching James and Jermaine work together this past year has been wonderful and it is a natural and exciting progression for them both as The Greyhound grows stronger.
Jermaine is a fantastic cook and we’re excited to continue to work with them both in their new roles.
We also had a visit from the new chief executive of the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts (RACA), Lisa Jenkins. RACA is Britain’s leading association of chefs, restaurant managers and suppliers, providing education, career opportunities and recognition of the talent and skills of hospitality professionals.
Lisa’s visit was just in time to check out our new lunch menu – have you tried it yet? We’ve got some beautiful, fresh summer dishes available including Parma ham with rocket, apricot and pesto; aubergine baba ganoush; and juicy chicken thigh with tarragon.
Our outside dining terrace overlooking our vegetable garden where we grow produce for the kitchen is also looking absolutely stunning in the sunshine, a perfect place to enjoy some of these dishes or a cold beverage.
And we know you want to hear all about how the Beaconsfield Rotary Club’s cheese and wine evening went – the evening raised a huge amount of money towards funding equipment for our local hospitals!
We also held our very first wine dinner last month. Marking British wine week, we partnered with Chapel Down for a very special dinner in our dining terrace. It was such a lovely evening that we plan to do more, so watch this space.
We look forward to seeing you very soon.
