Blankbottle wine dinner

We’re thrilled to reveal our next wine dinner will see us host Pieter Walser from Blankbottle winery in South Africa! Taking place on Wednesday 24 September at 7pm, Pieter, one of our generation’s most exciting winemakers, will take us through the story of Blankbottle and its amazing selection of wines.
 
Based near Stellenbosch, Pieter makes more than 47 wines a year drawing from 66 vineyards across the Southern Cape. Each wine and vineyard has a story, indicated by the name of the wine and the labels, which Pieter designs himself – without including grape varietals, to avoid preconceptions. Hence the name Blankbottle.
 
The story of Blankbottle in his words: “In 2004, a lady came to me. She wanted to buy anything but Shiraz. ‘I don't drink Shiraz’, were her exact words. I poured her a glass of wine. She loved it and bought three cases. It was a straight Shiraz.”
 
The dinner will be £175 per person and include a four-course meal and the wines throughout, as well as tea and coffee after the meal.
