Garden launch | Double promotion | Awards of Excellence
We’ve been busy bees working on our garden this year as we wanted to make more use of the beautiful space that we have, and our gardener Ellie has been working especially hard. Well, that hard work has finally paid off! Our spinach, tomatoes and beans are coming along nicely, so do come and see for yourself all the fruits, vegetables and herbs that our skilled chefs are turning into delicious dishes for you to enjoy.
As well as our garden, we love to see our people flourish and thrive, and so we’re very proud to announce the promotion of two of our brilliant team members. Lauren, who many of you will know and who was previously our head waiter, has been promoted to assistant manager, while Rohit, who joined us full-time last year, will take on the role of head waiter.
And that’s not all – Rohit and Lauren also both competed in the final of the Annual Awards of Excellence! Awarded by the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts, it is the most prestigious award available to young people in the hospitality industry and tests their expertise, technical mastery, creativity and abilities. We’re so proud of them for having got so far – as well as for getting a mention in the local press – and I’m sure you’ll join us in wishing them a huge congratulations, and keep your fingers crossed for them. We’re expecting to hear back soon...
Thanks so much to all of you who signed up to our Castelvecchio Estate wine dinner in August, which sold out in a matter of hours! Don’t worry if you missed out, you can still get yourself added to the waiting list by dropping us an email with your phone number at info@greyhoundbeaconsfield.co.uk – and this won’t be the last by far, so keep your eyes on your inbox to find out about them first.
Finally, it’s with a heavy heart that we bid adieu to our restaurant manager and friend Andrius, who has returned to his native Lithuania to be closer to his family. Andrius has been with us since we opened – we first met when we all worked together at the Oxford Blue in Old Windsor many years ago! Please join us in wishing Andrius all the very best for the future and in thanking him for his years of dedicated service and great work at the Greyhound.
