New Lunch Menu | Visit to Château la Bastide | Woodland Mushroom Tart
We have been mourning the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II earlier this month. Her strength, determination, and sense of duty have been and will continue to be an inspiration to us at The Greyhound, and we will miss her desperately.
Our duty to our own community drives us every day and we were so pleased to have been part of the Beaconsfield Country Fayre, which raised a fantastic £13,000 towards repairing the old parish church, Thames Valley Air Ambulance, and other local charities.
We also take the provenance of our food and drink very seriously. During the summer, Margriet went to visit one of our wine suppliers, Château la Bastide in France – scroll down to learn more about them.
Our head chef James also recently headed over to Cornwall to check out how our suppliers get their delicious fish to us. Flying Fish has been supplying the best seafood in the British Isles to the UK’s top chefs since 2006 and James was able to observe what it takes to get the fish from the day boats to our restaurant within 48 hours, giving him an even further enhanced respect for the ingredients he uses in the kitchen.
He was also personally able to verify how responsibly they operate, following the very highest industry practices to protect fish stocks and ensure the produce we use is as sustainable as it can be.
Speaking of seasonal, James has also designed a new lunch menu, with a host of fresh dishes including mackerel escabeche, served with carrots, radish and gooseberries – we’d love to hear your thoughts so do give our new lunch dishes a go when you’re next with us.
We look forward to seeing you very soon.
