Local artist | Jubilee competition winner | South Bucks Hospice

We hope you’ve been enjoying the sunshine and long weekends over the last month; it was wonderful to see so many of you enjoying our alfresco terrace and celebrating the Jubilee with us.

As well as being busy welcoming you to the restaurant, we’ve also been busy behind the scenes in the community, working to develop the restaurant, and on an incredibly exciting new collaboration with a local, award-winning artist that we can finally reveal to you.

We’re so excited to announce that not only have we finished renovating our upstairs dining room, but local artist Paul Bell, who won the BBC’s inaugural Big Painting Challenge and has previously exhibited at the Tate Britain, is going to be displaying his stunning artworks in the space.

You’ll be able to see Paul’s oils and watercolours at The Greyhound, including a special Greyhound painting above our fireplace upstairs. We absolutely love it. When we first moved to the area, we met Paul and he told us straight away that he’d like to paint it for us.

Separately, we were so happy when we were once again invited to participate in the Beaconsfield Rotary Club’s charity cheese and wine evening at Bekonscot Model Village. Daniel and Chris went along and donated the cheese for the evening. The whole event managed to raise much-needed funds for South Bucks Hospice at Butterfly House.

Also, huge congratulations to the winner(s) of our Jubilee competition who will be enjoying a complimentary tour and tasting at Chapel Down Winery, as well as a three-course lunch at its on-site restaurant The Swan.

In addition, a date for your diaries - make sure you come along to the Beaconsfield Country Fayre on 29th August. We will share details on what we are up to closer to the time!

The team can’t wait to welcome you back to the upstairs dining room, which has also had a bit of a change (no spoilers here).

We look forward to seeing you very soon.
