Beacon School Visit |Dan at The Cateys | Meet Sebastian

A visit from Beacon School

It's been an exciting month here at The Greyhound. We were thrilled to welcome four Year 6 pupils from Beacon School to our kitchen for a day. They helped George and the team prepare and serve dishes during our lunch service. This was a fantastic experience for the boys, who were winners of this year's MasterCook competition, held annually by Beacon School.

The students helped the team prepare several dishes and later enjoyed a well-deserved meal, joined by Dan and George.

Dan at The Cateys

In other news, Dan was honoured to be part of the judging panel at this year's Cateys, our industry's Oscars, hosted by The Caterer and celebrating the best of hospitality. It was a wonderful evening, and many congratulations to all the winners and nominees.

Our Summer Lunch Menu

Summer's in full swing, and so is our new lunch menu. Expect fresh, seasonal flavours such as torched chalk stream trout escabeche, pan-fried sea bream with a smoked eel beurre blanc, and a delicious Victoria sponge. Hear more about the new lunch menu here.

An Interview with Sebastian Clark

Sebastian is one of our senior waiters here at The Greyhound. He grew up around hospitality, starting out working with his parents, who own holiday cottages in Cornwall, and going on to work in hotels, restaurants, and vineyards in New Zealand, before joining us at The Greyhound.

We caught up with Sebastian to hear a bit more about his background, his experience in the industry, and how he hopes to progress in his career.
