Welcome Back
We are finally open!
We’ve had the most incredible few weeks since reopening and we are now so relieved and excited to be back.
Of course things are a little different and we’ve had to make some changes to how we operate but we’ve been really heartened by the response we’ve had from our guests to date.
While the lockdown was incredibly tough to say the least, especially as we had only been open for 14 weeks, it gave us time to think about how we can continue to push on in our quest to give our guests and the local area a pub and restaurant they can be proud of.
We spent a lot of time training our team, looking at our menus and working on how we can continue to improve what we do.
We’ve also worked closely with Positive Safety Training to offer our team mental health training and we are pleased to now have a number of certified mental health first aiders amongst us.
Outside of the obvious changes we’ve made in terms of introducing new Covid-safe measures, we are celebrating the opening of our outside dining terrace and the launch of our fantastic new menus.
Our terrace, which has six tables, is situated in the stunning pub and restaurant garden that is also home to produce being grown for the kitchen, including a wide range of fruits, vegetables and herbs.
Our menus, developed by head chef Adam, feature some incredible dishes that really make the most of our British heritage. We’ve introduced a lovely new lunch menu too so make sure you take a look.
Whether it’s for a meal or just popping in for a drink, it would be great to see you.
Thank you for your continued support,
Daniel and Margriet
What we're eating
Creedy Carver Duck, Black Bean and Cucumber
We are getting so much positive feedback on this beautiful dish.
Adam is using duck from Devon and serving the dish alongside a homemade Bao Bun.
It’s hearty and light all at once. It looks quite impressive too so do give it a try when you’re next in.
What we're drinking
Terre de Mistral `Rosalie` 2019
It is definitely time to enjoy a Provence Rose on our outside dining terrace.
This 2019 Terre de Mistral `Rosalie` scored 95 points in last year’s Decanter Magazine, and we couldn't agree more.
There’s a raspberry, blackcurrant and lavender fruitiness that leaps out at you. You may also find white peach, pears, and tart berry notes bouncing around your mouth.
It is known for its full-body creaminess alongside its crisp, bright typically Provencál qualities.
