Château Ksara wine dinner
After Christmas, we all need something to look forward to in January – and we’ve got the perfect solution.
On Tuesday 28 January, get ready for our next wine dinner, led by Michael Karam, a consultant for Château Ksara.
Château Ksara’s vineyards are located in Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley at an average altitude of 1,000 metres, meaning a semi-continental hot climate with hot summer days and cool evenings, as well as cold winters with moderate rainfall. The region receives between 600 and 700mm of annual rainfall, mostly in the autumn and winter.
The soil ranges from chalk to clay and limestone, but it is always stony, allowing Château Ksara to grow 29 different grape varietals including Gamay, Muscat, Gewürztraminer, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Malbec, Merlot, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon – all without the use of pesticides or herbicides.
Jesuit monks laid the foundations of Lebanon’s modern wine industry but it is a consortium of entrepreneurs that acquired Château Ksara – named because of its ‘ksar’, meaning fortress – in 1973, and which oversees the estate today.
This fabulous wine dinner will be £150 per person, including a delicious four-course tasting menu, the wine of course, as well as coffee and tea. Book your place by sending us an email with your phone number at info@greyhoundbeaconsfield.co.uk.
