Telegraph mention | Three promotions | Christmas menus
We wanted to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for the amazing messages, emails, calls, flowers, cards and even gifts we’ve received over the last month after having been awarded the AA’s Restaurant of the Year Award 2024/25 for England!
We’re still on cloud nine, we haven’t stopped smiling all month and we’re totally overwhelmed by your kindness. We always say we’ve got the best guests on the planet, and we couldn’t do it without you – thank you.
That’s not the only reason we’re celebrating this month. We’re also chuffed to have got a brilliant mention in the Telegraph Magazine by Ed Cumming, and our pop-up bar at the Beaconsfield Country Fayre raised £2,600 for charity! Thanks so much to everyone who came along on the day.
And please join us in giving a huge congratulations to the not one but three team members who have deservedly been promoted this month. Former demi chef de partie Sam – who you may remember passed his apprenticeship with flying colours this summer – has been promoted to chef de partie.
Meanwhile Eve, who is doing an apprenticeship with us, and Nathan, both previously commis chefs, have also both been promoted to the position of demi chef de partie. Our team's development is important to us and we’re so happy to be able to give these three rising stars a chance to expand their skills and knowledge in the kitchen.
We also wanted to give a special thanks to the kids from St George’s School Windsor Castle who recently sent us some really sweet pictures and letters of what they grow in their gardens which you can see on our Instagram.
As if there wasn’t already plenty to celebrate, Christmas is on the horizon so it’s very much time to book your celebrations if you haven’t already. Our festive lunch menu is now on the website and it really is a cracker. From roasted turkey breast and Brixham sea bass with bouillabaisse and saffron aioli, to smoked salmon with cucumber and cream cheese, and vanilla cheesecake with passion fruit sorbet... we’ve still got some seats going but you'll need to get in quick!
Our last service before Christmas will be Saturday 21 December to give our lovely team a well-earned rest after working so hard this year. We'll then be open between Friday 27 December until Tuesday 31 December, including Sunday 29 and Monday 30 December. We'll then be closed for another short break from Wednesday 1 January until we reopen for dinner on Tuesday 14 January.
