Team Excelsioar | Our garden | Mother’s Day

We’re so proud that the amazing Team Excelsioar, including our regular guest Nicki, completed their row across the Atlantic earlier this month.

You can watch the moment they reached the finish line and you can also still donate to their fundraising efforts for the DASH Charity and Thames Hospice.

Meanwhile, we’re really proud to have been named among the UK’s Top 100 restaurants by SquareMeal (22nd to be precise) and one of the best in Buckinghamshire! A huge thank you to everybody who voted for us – it means a lot to us and the team.

It’s been a busy month for the Greyhound, as we recently hosted more students from Pipers Corner School. They got to enjoy working in a real-life restaurant environment as part of their studies, as well as learning from both the front-of-house and kitchen teams. It’s always a joy for us to welcome students and support them in their learning, and hopefully inspire them to join the hospitality industry.

Something else we’re very passionate about, as you know, is wine, and we’ve had the pleasure of organising two wine dinners already this year. Our GD Vajra Barolo dinner was a great success and you can see a little of how it all went (including behind the scenes) on Instagram.

We’ve got another one coming up on Tuesday 26 March with New Zealand winery Little Beauty - which we are very much looking forward to.

If you can’t make it, we’ve still got some brilliant dishes on the menu this month we know you’re going to love, including a beautiful spinach tortellini – read more about this fabulous dish below.

Separately, here’s your official reminder from us that Mother’s Day is next week. We’ve got gift vouchers if you fancy giving them something extra special.

We’re also putting a lot of our time into developing our garden now Spring is on the horizon and green shoots are starting to emerge. We’re keen to grow as much of our own produce to use in the restaurant as we can.

If you’d like to enjoy the views of our garden from our wonderful outdoor dining terrace, it’s never too early to book ahead before we open it in May.
