Apprentices | Charity row | Gift vouchers
If you haven’t seen the news already, we’ve launched an apprenticeship programme! It’s all about bringing more young people into the business as well as formalising our ongoing efforts to show them the opportunities hospitality can offer.
We’ve been supporting apprentices across the business since we opened, and having taken on so many apprentices this year, we wanted to set up a formal training pathway that will equip them with the qualifications and skills to help them succeed.
Apprenticeships can really help young people seeking less ‘academic’ qualifications but still provide them with structured learning and development opportunities.
We’re really excited to further engage young people in the community through the new scheme, so if you know of anyone you think would make a great hospitality superstar, let us know!
Speaking of superstars – we mentioned a few months ago that we are supporting one of our regular guests, Nicki Kelly, who is one of a three-woman team rowing across the Atlantic Ocean. They’re raising funds for two local charities, Thames Hospice and the DASH Charity, as well as showing that women at any age can take part in endurance sports. But to get to the start line they first need to raise around £50 for each of the 3,000 miles they’ll row.
To put it into perspective, more people climb Everest every year than have ever rowed the Atlantic and the crews will have to face 40ft waves (almost three double-decker buses) during their journey. Any sponsorship, however big or small, will have a big impact for them, their charities and those they support, so please give what you can to support these incredible women and let’s get them to that start line in December! We’ll of course keep you updated on how they get on and we’ll be rooting for them every step (or row) of the way.
Meanwhile, if you’re starting to think about what to get for a special someone this Christmas, you can now buy Greyhound gift vouchers to treat your nearest and dearest to a fabulous dining experience they’ll never forget.
