Our latest newsletter
We hope you’re all keeping well and wish you a belated happy new year!
Although we would love to delight you with news of reopening in our first newsletter of 2021, sadly that may be a little way off. But, with the vaccine starting to be rolled out and plenty of exciting plans here at The Greyhound, rest assured that things are looking up.
For starters, we have been thinking long and hard about how we can improve our outdoor space and have a few things lined up so keep an eye out for updates. We’re also really excited to let you know that we’re looking into an ‘At home’ option, so you can enjoy restaurant-quality food from the comfort of your dinner table. We will keep you posted on both of these announcements, so watch this space.
In the meantime, if you want to try some new things at home, scroll down for some mealtime inspiration, courtesy of our head chef, Adam. And for those with birthdays or other special occasions coming, please remember that we also have gift vouchers available for purchase. Drop us a line on 01494 671315 and we can arrange for these to be sent to you.
As always, we thank you for your continued support and can’t wait to see you all again.

What we're drinking
If you visited us before lockdown, you may remember we added a variant of a classic cocktail to our menu — the ‘Peated Old Fashioned’. We think it’s the perfect tipple to start the evening with after a hard day’s work, and we hope you’ll agree!
Ingredients
50ml of peated whisky of your choice
Angostura bitter
Demerara sugar (or any brown sugar)
Orange zest
Method
Take your glass (we use an old fashioned glass, but any will do!).
Add a few drops of water, a couple of dashes of angostura bitter and half a teaspoon of sugar. Mix.
Next, add a couple of ice cubes and 25ml of peated whisky, before stirring for one minute. Repeat.
Then, take an orange zest and squeeze the oils on top of your glass.
Finally, add the orange zest into the cocktail, and enjoy!
