SquareMeal Gold Award | Al Fresco Dining | Other Exciting Updates!
This month, we were delighted to receive the SquareMeal Gold Award, their highest accolade for ‘outstanding’ restaurants and bars. We are honoured by this recognition and, following our ranking as their 7th best restaurant in the UK earlier this year, we cannot thank you enough for your continued support. This achievement also wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work of our amazing team, who deliver outstanding service to our guests every day.
This month, Margriet and our restaurant manager, Lauren, enjoyed a trip to Champagne, visiting Duménil and Pol Roger with Davy’s Wine Merchants. Their visit included exploring the estates and learning more about their champagnes and winemaking. Even with all the wine knowledge we have at The Greyhound, we love to check in with our suppliers. We are always keen to learn more about what they do and to share those stories with our guests.
With the weather warming up, we are thrilled to open our outdoor dining area. Join us from 5th May to enjoy a drink or meal in the sunshine. Our team looks forward to welcoming you and helping you make the most of the Summer weather!
Old Town Bistro Opening Date Announced

Wine Dinner: François Villard
We are excited to announce our next wine dinner, taking place on Wednesday, 3 June at 7 pm. The dinner is priced at £150 per person and includes a curated menu paired with a flight of wines from winemakers Josep Grau & Helen Grau.
We will be joined by Helen Grau, who will guide us through their wines and the pairings. Josep and Helen oversee 64 acres of vineyards, purchasing the first in the village of Capçanes, in DO Montsant and later expanding into DOQ Priorat.
Themed around Spanish wines, the evening promises to be a memorable one, and we hope to see you there.

Meet Chris, our group support chef
Chris is our group support chef across The Greyhound and, now, our newest venture, Old Town Bistro. With 17 years of industry experience, Chris has a strong background in pastry, including six years as a head pastry chef before progressing into his current role.
Chris has worked in a wide range of settings, from luxury hotels and gastropubs to chocolatiers and private members’ clubs.
We caught up with Chris to hear a bit more about his background, how he got into the industry and his thoughts on the future of The Greyhound and Old Town Bistro.
